To most people, retirement means slowing down. But to me, it’s about realizing my long-time dream of owning an organic tea garden and a tea factory to make Dan Cong wulong tea. With decades of governmental experience working in the Agriculture Department specializing in tea production regulation, it’s been incredibly fulfilling to pour my knowledge and effort into growing Da Wu Ye cultivar in the mist of Phoenix Mountain. Despite choosing to not rely on pesticides or chemical fertilizers, we are able to achieve sustainable farming through manual weeding and planting a variety of different plants to distract pests and provide organic nutrients to the tea plants.
